So I’ve decided that I finished my silhouette self-portrait project. I only changed a few things with my project from the last blog update. I added a couple of more pictures to my collage. I decided to keep the sunflower because I like the way it looks and plays out now that I added the photo of the sky with the rainbow. I also lightly darkened the edges of the portrait (almost like an outline) in order to make it stand out from the background and add more contrast. I don’t think at first glance it makes a big difference, but when comparing it to before I notice a significant difference. Overall I’m satisfied with my final product.

So far I have added the background and pulled several more images off of Google Images to add to my portrait. I’m trying to add unity to the portrait by added images that go together. I’m thinking of getting of of the sunflower because I don’t like the yellow, next class I will try to add some more purple and blue photos to the collage.

I haven’t done too much, but I have replaced one of the images in my silhouette to try to make it blend and flow together more. I still have to erase the backgrounds of a few photos before I can finally add it to my piece and arrange it the way I want.

So far I’ve added a few images to my silhouette. I didn’t realize how big these images were until I began erasing the background of the picture of the butterfly so I could use it, which took up a lot of time. I have’t arranged my images in the way I want it yet, I’m just preparing them.

I gathered all of my photos I plan to use for my project. I’m pretty much satisfied with all the images I found. Though when I was searching I feel like I gathered more photos in relation to nature than art. I couldn’t find many images I liked and thought would fit the art aspect of my project.

For this new project we will be making a collage out of our self-portrait and I decided on the theme of nature and art. I chose this because I feel like the two play a big role in life and what makes it interesting. It’s something we are surrounded by everyday and what makes life what it is. I also chose a common color scheme of blue, purple and pink because they’re my top favorite colors.

For this task we were assigned to dress up a kitten in Photoshop. I like my finished result and I didn’t have any struggles with it.

I think that I did well with this, It was mostly familiar to me but I kept forgetting how to use tools like viewing the history but other than that I think I did okay.

A picture that is meaningful to me.

• I used to do a lot of digital art on my laptop using a small graphic tablet. It has been a while though since I’ve actually taken the time to make art digitally.
• In the situation that work ever gets lost I guess all that is really left to do is to keep going. Though if that ever happens, hopefully it’ll be saved and backed up somewhere else.
• I’m thinking of backing up my work on both Google Drive and a USB because it’ll be accessible from 2 different places if something ever happens. Though, Google Drive it pretty much accessible from almost any electronic, where as files on a USB are accessible if you have a computer with you.
• It’s important that I post my work to my blog every class to ensure that I get a grade for the work I’ve done.
