Today I finished outlining all the clouds surrounding the character’s head. I also finished filling in the character’s head. I struggled a bit with trying to add the rocket using the pen tool, but I think I know what I have to do now. So, all I have left to do is fill in the rocket, the airplane, add some details and that will pretty much be it.
Today I worked on making the clouds around the character’s head white. I also started outlining the clouds with grey so that they pop. I did this using the pen tool to give some line weight. I have to finish outlining the clouds and then the cloud lettering on the bottom.
So today I couldn’t find my sketch for my design, so instead of re-doing the sketch I went ahead and put it into Illustrator. Today I worked on filling in the cloud letters on the bottom of my design. I filled all of them in with white, now I just have to cut out the holes in the letters using the compound path.
Today I made a design for a t-shirt. I drew a silhouette of a character’s head that is surrounded by clouds. I just based off of the saying “head in the clouds” which is very clear. I added some things like a rocket shooting through the clouds and I added an airplane that looks like it’s about to go through the character’s ear. It’s based off the saying “in one ear and out the other.” I also drew the quote on the bottom in cloud lettering to tie it together.
Today I worked on making a rabbit in Adobe Illustrator and creating holes in the design. It was relatively easy but I couldn’t figure out how to create the holes. I kept trying to get it right, then I got help and I figured it out. I’m pretty satisfied with how it came out but after making the holes I had to go back and clean it up a bit.
Today I practiced doing vector are in Adobe Illustrator. For some reason at first I couldn’t fill in the star but it eventually started working. I think the star came out decent although I wish it looked cleaner. The heart was a bit harder, but not too hard. the apple made me struggle some though. I couldn’t get the shape of the bite in the apple with the pen tool for a while. The dog took the longest since I tried to get the edges as close to the original pic as possible. I kept messing up the curves and it came out it a bit rough but I’m sure I’ll get better.
For my stop motion animation project, I chose to make a clip about a bird who tries to be like it’s elder. I don’t know what I should title it though. I thought of a couple ideas before I decided on this one. It was going really good when I first started but then I came across a setback. While I was working on my project, my camera broke, which made me switch to working on the rest on the clip on an iPad. Due to that, there is a noticeable jump in quality in the clip. I think if that hadn’t happened, I’d be more pleased with the end result. Besides that, I think it came out okay. I think some movements could be more fluid. Also, I don’t like how you can see the table in the video. I would’ve been satisfied if for the video, you could just see the paper, and not the table, which is my mistake. Also, at the end of the video I lost a piece of my set. There is supposed to be a salad bowl on the picnic blanket, but I lost it somehow. I didn’t feel like making another salad bowl so I just continued to finish my project without the salad bowl on the blanket (which really bothers me). I think this had the potential to be better if I hadn’t come across those inconveniences.
Currently have 28 seconds and I’m almost done! In the last few seconds the baby bird will put back the potato chip out of fear because of the humans who are returning to their picnic.
Currently I have 14 seconds, so I’m getting closer to 20 seconds of footage. The next scene that I’ve started working on is the part where the baby bird comes in and attempts to steal food. A few classes ago, the camera on my phone broke, so I had to switch to the iPad. But because of that I had to continue working on a separate file resulting in a change in quality. So, I decided to lower the fps of the second clip to 10 fps because I didn’t like how my video did an awkward speed up in the beginning.
So far I’m 7 seconds into my animation. It’s a bit difficult for me to keep the angle of the photo consistent but I tried. Next class I’ll be working on the next scene where the baby bird will come in.
